During intercourse, a man may approach his wife from any side or in any manner that he likes, provided that he inserts his penis only in her vagina. Allah SWT says:
نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْ ۖ وَقَدِّمُوا لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ مُلَاقُوهُ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.
Surah Baqarah v.223
"Place of cultivation" indicates that it is only permissible to have
intercourse with one's wife in her vagina, because this is the only way
for the seeds to be cultivated and for her to conceive.
Jabir Bin Abdillah RA reported that the Jews used to say that if a man performs intercourse with his wife in her vagina, but from behind, the child that she conceives would be cross-eyed. So Allah SWT revealed ... (the above ayah: al-Baqarah 2:223).
And the Prophet Muhammad SAW then said:
"Whether she is turning forward or backward, as long as it is done in the vagina."
